THE MONACO CLASSIC WEEK

THE MONACO CLASSIC WEEK

The Yacht Club of Monaco originally organized Monaco Classic Week, known as La Belle Classe, a nod to the sea and maritime heritage of this resplendent slice of the coast. The first one was held in 1994 and formed based on an idea from the Yacht Club to commemorate the first motorboat meetings that took place in 1904 in celebration of 10 years of reigning for the Club President Prince Albert II.

It’s a fantastic sight to behold for any lover of yachting. Therein one harbor, the boats from bygone years that range from small crafts to extremely posh yachts and everything in between all come together. During Monaco Classic Week, there are many onshore activities to partake in as well. There are organic gastronomic challenges, cocktail parties with auctions for a classic yacht, notable paintings, and collectibles that are nautical in nature. The jury is made up of princesses and artists that select the crew that is the most elegant in dress and behavior that upholds naval etiquette.

It’s a week for tradition and walking along the southern quay where the YCM Marina sits. Watching these gorgeous yachts from yesteryear, all fully restored, is a thing of beauty any lover of life on the sea from the perch of a yacht charter can fully appreciate.
